On Wednesday 3 September at 9am (Paris time), Albena Vatralova (Climate, Atmosphere and Water Research Institute - Bulgarian Academy of Sciences) will give a webinar entitled "Wastewater reuse: a challenging option to address water scarcity and environmental pollution issues"
=> Announcement of the webinar

Abstract. Rapid population growth and urbanization, exhaustive water consumption, and climate change are critical factors for the depletion of freshwater resources. This exacerbates the competition for water resources between different users and sectors. One of the most significant developments in water management in recent years has been the increasing focus on using reclaimed water as means of adaptation to global warming and mitigation of water scarcity and environmental pollution issues. The presentation makes a critical review and analysis of different types of treated wastewater applications around the world nowadays. The general regulations and the appropriate wastewater treatment technologies are described. The main benefits, risks and obstacles are considered.
